Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I miss a deadline?

If a deadline passes without a notice sent, you may lose your right to file a mechanics lien. LienGrid sends multiple alerts to prevent this, but we cannot guarantee rights preservation if you don't act. For missed deadlines, consult with a construction attorney about alternative remedies.

How are deadlines calculated?

Deadlines are calculated from your first furnishing date using your state's specific lien law. California is 20 days, Texas is 15, Arizona is 20, etc. We handle business days vs calendar days, holiday exclusions, and all state-specific rules automatically.

Can I change the alert schedule?

Yes. You can customize when you receive alerts (14, 7, 3 days or custom timing), disable specific alerts, or pause all alerts for a job. Team accounts can set organization-wide defaults.

Do you integrate with my calendar?

Yes. Export deadlines to Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar with one click. Deadlines appear as events with all job details. We're also working on Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations.
